Role of Managers and Individuals If one looks through history, we find examples of kings and other rulers who have sought the advice of experts to assist with the processing of solving and handling problems. When faced with complicated issues there is a perpetual human need to consult individuals knowledgeable in the processing of solving and handling those issues. Organizational changes are inevitable bringing, renewal, rebirth, and opportunities for the organization to refocus and redesign interactions within the environment. Change management seeks adapting and acceptance of new innovative and creative ways to perform duties, and can be structure, policy, system, or procedural changes. The role of the individuals is to embrace the changes and take the initiative to be successful at making their own personal transitions, and delivering the change adding value to the organization. However, the individuals’ success is only satisfied when the change agents are successfully in their roles with their approach in the planned change. 2.) Examination the two types of change agents. Organizations use change agents when embarking on a major change and are striving to improve and they often assign an individual or group (external consultants) to assist in facilitating the change process. The change agents whether internal or external assist in managing the change and ensuring communication through the change process. †¢ Internal The internal change agents are individuals within the organization, and have an advantage, as the internal change agents understand the workings of the organization with regard to the values, culture, staff, and behaviors. However, the internal change agent’s credibility and their ability to change is their disadvantage for something that is already in motion. †¢ External Being from outside the organization, external change agents can be challenged becoming familiar the organizations values, norms, behaviors, beliefs, and building relationships with staff.
